Here are the steps –
- First of all, there is a switch on the body of this device which you’ll have to set to the Extender setting.
- Now plug it into a power source. It should be approximately half the distance between the router and the target area. Wait until the power indicator LED glows steadily. You can press the power switch twice to switch on the device if the LED is not glowing.
- From your computer, connect to the signal from the extender. There’ll be one signal for each 2.4GHz and 5GHz channel.
- After the connection is active, the connection indication LED on the extender will light up.
- From a web browser, visit www.mywifiext.net and choose the SSID for the 2.4 GHz channel and click on Continue.
- Put in the network details and click on Continue once again.
- Again, select the SSID for 5GHz, followed by Continue. Put the network details, then again click on continue. Select between the public network and private network options. Then put in the network settings for this device, followed by Continue one more time.
- Netgear Genie will activate all the settings you’ve chosen. Finally, connect to the network from the extender from there, click on Continue and then click on Finish.
